Carlos is back! And just in time for the holidays!
Going out with his owner to finish the holiday shopping he makes his way around New York at ankle level (a Frenchie’s usual view of the world) wearing his snazzy winter boots to protect his paws from the cold. But this time as he enjoys the holiday scene in various festive parts of what French bulldogs would call La Grande Pomme he encounters a fundraising Frenchie Rescue volunteer, whose dog is shivering in the winter cold. Carlos, in a burst of holiday spirit, gives the rescue Frenchie his little red boots.
He makes it back home with cold feet,but a warm heart from having donea good deed. But wait! What is that under the treefor Carlos! A package with four new little doggie boots! Is there a lesson here?
I think so…..
Once again Maureen Sullivan’s rhyming text with Alison Josephs’ brilliant illustrations is a delight not just for kids, but for anyone who enjoys a sweet story and has a soft spot for dogs — especially French bulldogs.
