Charming Dresden Porcelain Little Boy With A Frenchie
Here is an adorable figurine of a little boy, in his top hat and jacket, carrying a bouquet of flowers, most likely for his girl friend, and he has the cutest little fawn French Bulldog at his feet. The base is heart shaped. He has lace as his shirt ruffle. This figurine is in wonderful condition, no nicks, cracks, or any crazing, just a skillfully designed figurine by Dresden.
This porcelain is very hard to find without damage to the “lace” porcelain or flowers. It is marked on the bottom Dresden and a N with the Crown on top of it. This figurine is just amazing with the all of detail on it. It measures 5 1/2 inches tall, by 2 1/4 inches wide.
Ca. 1930-40.

1915 Magazine Page by Raymond de la Nezière
This is a page from 1915 WWI magazine called “La Baïonnette” (The Bayonette). It is titled the “Secret will be well guarded.” Presumably some war secret is about to be spread around by the Frenchie! The text is: “Le secret sera-t-il bien gardé? De la plus haute importance; et surtout, ne le répéte à personne!” The lady is saying to her friends “Will the secret be well kept? It’s of the greatest importance, and above all, don’t repeat it to anyone!” (as the dog rushes off, looking devilish, to spread the secret around).
Dimensions of entire page: 12-1/8″ high X 9-1/8″ wide between little black outlines, 10-1/2″ high X 7-1/2″ wide from right above word Baïonnette! to just below text below lower line 11-1/4″ high. Fine condition for a 97 year old magazine page. Some slight yellowing of paper as would be expected, but the colors of print are sharp and fresh. No tears, creases, folds, or mends.
This would look marvelous matted and framed.
