SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

The Performance Committee is offering a Special Event SUPER DOG competition at this year’s National Specialty. The Super Dog is designed to honor the versatility of the French Bulldog. You do not need a separate entry to compete, but it would be helpful if you advise Terry May that you want your dog to be considered so that we make sure we have all eligible dogs on our radar. The first-place Super Dog winner will be awarded at the Awards Ceremony Banquet with a Trophy and there will be ribbons awarded though Eighth Place. The rules are:

1. The dog must be owned or bred by an FBDCA member in Good Standing.

2. The dog must compete in the highest level offered that it is eligible to complete in to receive points. In other words, a dog qualified to compete in Open Obedience will not receive points for competing in Novice Obedience, but competing in a lower level does not disqualify the dog from the competition.

3. The dog must compete in at least three of the following competitions:

1. Scent Trial
2. Obedience
3. Rally
4. CGC/CGCA/Temperament Test
5. Fast Cat
6. Agility
7. Conformation (only the National Specialty counts)

Points are awarded simply for competing in each event, even if the dog does not qualify, and increase in value for Qualifying, Placing, and Winning. So, enter the multiple events being offered and let’s show everyone what our French Bulldogs can do!

The rooms for the 2023 National Specialty are all booked for the host hotel, Roberts Centre Holiday Inn Express. Historically, 20%-30% of the rooms get canceled. If you were not able to get a room, still call and get on the waitlist. There is a good chance you could room. The number to call to get on the wait list is 937-283-3200.
